THE PEGGY BALDWIN HISTORY:

Peggy’s life-long commitment to the cello was inspired by her mother, who is a professional cellist in the Seattle area. Peggy’s study of music took her from the Pacific Northwest to California, where she graduated with honors from the University of Southern California. Shortly thereafter, she won principle chair with the Fresno Philharmonic, where she earned recognition for her orchestral solos. In addition to performing with a wide variety of symphonies and chamber music groups, she developed a serious interest in studio work and exploring the voice of the cello in unique musical settings. Peggy has shown her versatility as a cellist on numerous recording sessions for movies and has performed on several albums, including those of Kiss, Maroon 5, Justin Timberlake, Michael Buble and George Harrison. Peggy has worked with a wide spectrum of artists, ranging from Dionne Warwick, Henry Mancini, Yanni and Harry Connick, Jr. to The Electric Light Orchestra, Rod Stewart, Stevie Wonder, Brian Wilson and Adele. Some of her TV appearances include The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Ellen DeGeneres, The Grammys, American Music Awards, The Oscars, The Dick Clark New Year’s Eve Countdown, VH1 Storytellers, The Voice and American Idol. Peggy has recorded a solo album, “String of Whispers” and continues to seek new experiences over a broad musical spectrum.

After the release of the 2001 album Zoom, Jeff Lynne announced a North American tour, their first live set of concerts in 15 years. A promotional PBS show was recorded over two consecutive nights at CBS Television City in Los Angeles.

The Electric Light Orchestra's management abruptly cancelled the tour (due to slow ticket sales) and this footage was released on VHS and DVD by Image Entertainment. The DVD earned Platinum status in Australia.

The live line-up of the group was very different from the group that last toured in the 1980s with only Richard Tandy remaining, alongside The Electric Light Orchestra leader Jeff Lynne.

All songs played on tour, except "Rock 'n' Roll Is King" and "All She Wanted", were released on either the Electric Light Orchestra Live album or the Zoom Tour Live VHS/DVD.
